Background

This project in collaborative partnership with the Kenya Agricultural Research and Livestock Organization, the University of Nairobi, the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Fisheries  and the State Department of Social Service.

The project is funded by the International Development Research Centre, a crown corporation of the Government of Canada. 

The project targeted  1500 direct project participants and an Indirect of 2,400 out of which 50% in both beneficiary categories are women participants. The project is currently being implemented in 8 administrative wards of Kinangop Sub-county, Nyandarua County. A

Gender Equality

Through agriculture, nutrition, gender and marketing tools which provided women with the information and skills to negotiate greater control over resources and decisions.

Through increased potato and garden pea productivity.

Through increased household income through produce sale at farm gate and local markets.
