About Empowering Women’s Rights Organisations (WROs)

Through the Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) initiative, CARE Kenya has significantly strengthened the institutional capacity, sustainability, and influence of Women’s Rights Organisations (WROs) across Kenya.

The initiative supported over 120 WROs, with a strong emphasis on localisation, feminist principles, and locally driven change. By combining multi-year funding, responsive grants, and tailored capacity strengthening, WROs have emerged as credible, resilient, and effective actors advancing gender equality and women’s rights.
